​The Mayoral Tourism Awards celebrate the achievements of the Cape Winelands tourism industry role-players and showcase the best tourism entities, products, service excellence and the people behind it. The purpose of these awards is to acknowledge those entities, products and people that excelled and continue to surpass expectations within the Cape Winelands tourism fraternity. All nominations eligible for these awards must be located within the Cape Winelands District Municipal boundaries. The nominations must be returned by no later than the Tuesday 30 April at 1630. The nomination form and advert are attached.

Investigation of processed-meat products Posted in: General By: Communication Dept
​Investigation of the mislabelling of processed-meat products by the Cape Winelands District Municipality South African consumers, through research done by scientists at the University of Stellenbosch, were recently made aware that they are buying processed-meat products, such as sausages, burger patties and deli meats that have been adulterated with traces of various undeclared ingredients ranging from soya to donkey meat. These ingredients were not declared on the labels of packaging.The research also found that many manufacturers failed the mandatory declaration of designated common allergens, like soya and gluten, on their food labels.
