CWDM Fire Services boosts training with expanded accreditation

Following a successful compliance visit by verifiers of the South African Emergency Services Institute (SAESI), the Cape Winelands District Municipality (CWDM) Fire Services is proud to announce a significant expansion of its training capabilities. The CWDM Fire Training Academy has been accredited with an additional 18 programmes of the International Fire Services Accreditation Congress (IFSAC), further solidifying its reputation as a premier training institution for fire and emergency services.

For the past 18 years, the CWDM Fire Training Academy has been a leading provider of fire services training, with over 7 000 firefighters completing one or more of its eight training courses. Firefighters from various disciplines attend the academy to receive both practical and theoretical instruction, ensuring they are well prepared for the challenges of emergency response.

This milestone increases the total number of accredited programmes at the academy to 26, which makes provision for a wider range of internationally recognised qualifications. The expanded accreditation enhances the academy’s ability to provide essential training to municipal staff and partners, ensuring compliance with municipal staffing regulations and equipping personnel with the necessary skills for future roles.
