Cape Winelands District Municipality (CWDM) in partnership with Hood Hop Africa (HHA) and Breede Valley Municipality hosted Touwsriver tournament on the 29th of April 2023 at Touwsriver Sport Stadium in Touwsriver. Sport that was played among others was the seven rugby, netball, soccer and arts and culture which was held at the community hall in Touwsriver.
Three hundred and fifty youth took part in this event. The event was once again a big success and community received us well. HHA was responsible for Arts & Culture programme on the day which included workshops ranging from Dancing to DJ’ing.
Youth sports can be enormously beneficial for children and lead to better educational and career opportunities. CWDM believes that communities with active youth sports programs see a corresponding reduction in crime and anti-social behavior.
